When adding plants to our landscapes, we have to know our climate and garden location and check what the producer of the plant says is good. when it comes to trees and shrubs, we all know that the investment is becoming substantial, so we want to be sure the plant is going to last.
The NorthEast Hardiness Zones include the areas of Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire,New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia. Some books break this down further to separate the MidAtlantic states, but we are going to keep it to the zone breakdown of the USDA Hardiness categories.
