Okay, so its winter. What should or could you or your landscaper be doing now to protect your lawn and garden to be sure that you have a great spring?
Here's an outline:
Continually assess trees for any weak branches or limbs, trim and prune as necessary. Check tree type for winter or spring pruning
Apply anti-desiccants to broad leaf evergreens and new plantings. Applications are recommended for December and February
Water any new plantings one more time before average ground freeze date for your area
Cut back ornamental grasses either as they die off, or, if you prefer to leave them for the winter, be sure to cut them back prior to the very beginning of spring
Prune fruit trees in late winter, again being sure it is done prior to the very beginning of spring
Plan spring projects, map new garden areas, attend horticultural shows
